The day began with mass celebrated by the most Reverent Bishop Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Shivmoga Diocese; concelebrated by Fr. Antony Peter, parish priest of Harihar church; Fr. Eric Mathias SJ, superior and Principal of Aloysius degree college; Fr. Santhosh Fernades SJ, principal of Aloysius PU college and Fr. Padeep Sequira, finance officer of Aloysius college, Harihar. In the sermon, the Bishop narrated and briefed the life of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, while giving a few values of St. Aloysius that every Aloysian should follow.

The mass was followed by cultural programme which was held for the students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staffs. The master of the ceremony was conducted by Miss Sangeetha of first year PUC-Arts and Miss Revathi of second year PUC- Commerce.

Welcoming is an undying tradition of India. A day begins with invoking gods’ blessings. Prayer is not asking, prayer is putting oneself into the hands of God, at his disposition, and listening to his voice in the depth of one’s heart. The programme began with a welcome dance, invoking God’s blessings which was followed by a Prayer song led by the College choir.

Welcoming one another is the most honorable event. Master Gagan, the President of the Student Council of St Aloysius College welcomed the gathering with his charismatic speech. Light the candle for peace, light the candle for love that our wish for world peace will, one day come true. All the dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Oath is something that binds everyone. One to one and all to all. Lighting the lamp was followed by an Oath taking ceremony which was led by Mr. Sunny Gudino, the Vice principal of St Aloysius PU College.

Every thought that is produced, anything you say, any action you do, it bears your signature. The dignitaries then felicitated Bishop after which the Bishop delivered a speech about St. Aloysius Gonzaga and added to the values he mentioned before, that must be followed by everyone. Dancing is the hidden language of the soul. Boys from first year PUC-Science of Section A mesmerized the audience with their spectacular lyrical dance.

Folk dance is a tradition of Karnataka. A wonderful performance was put forward by the girls of first year PUC.

The folk dance was followed by another enthusiastic dance performance. Fr. Eric Mathias SJ, the Principal and Superior of the college addressed the gathering through his inspirational words. It is deeply satisfying to win a prize. All the dignitaries were then called upon to distribute the prizes to the winners of the Aloysian week.

The prize distribution was followed by a nature dance which led the audience to the world of greenery.

Music is one of the most powerful tools to be inspired, the feeling that a person gets from the rhythm and the melody is indescribable. The College Choir of St Aloysius College enchanted the audience with a beautiful song. The song was followed by a Vote of Thanks which was delivered by Ms. Meezan of first year PUC-Science.

The programme ended with a delicious lunch which was arranged by the college for all those who had gathered for the programme.
